50-Hour Foundational Certificate Course · Maine Edition
Modules 1–10 cover core foundations at roughly 3.5 hours each; Modules 11–15 cover specialty and capstone topics at roughly 3 hours each — 50 hours total of reading, interactive exercises, and graded knowledge checks. Work through them in order — later modules build on skin, color, and anatomy concepts taught early on. Your quiz scores and completion checkmarks are saved automatically in this browser. Use the checkbox at the bottom of each module to mark it done and unlock your progress bar above.
This course covers foundational theory and technique. It does not replace hands-on supervised practice, which Maine requires before you may perform procedures independently — see Module 1 for specifics.

This course provides theoretical and didactic training only. It is designed to fulfill classroom-hour components of PMU training. Maine requires additional supervised hands-on practicum hours under a licensed practitioner, plus a DHHS-approved bloodborne pathogens course, before an individual may be licensed to work independently. Regulations referenced here reflect Maine DHHS tattoo/body art rules (Title 32 Chapter 63; 10-144 CMR Chapter 210) as of this course's writing — always confirm current requirements directly with Maine DHHS before practicing.
